Tourism: Morocco sharpens its weapons for a recovery in 2022

As part of a collective effort to revive tourism activity, operators in the sector are preparing for the restart of activity in 2022.

To maintain the desire to visit Morocco and refine the marketing assets for next year, pending the relaxation of travel restrictions imposed by the Covid-19, tourism stakeholders are already mobilizing to put in place a roadmap that aims to boost tourism after two years of agony, reports Today Morocco, recalling in this sense that the Moroccan tourism sector was among the economic activities having obtained relatively significant public aid.

On the occasion of the celebration of World Tourism Day, the newspaper highlighted the visions of professionals who clearly envision a sustainable recovery, noting that domestic tourism is a card to be played to save the sector in the midst of a period of crisis. .

Thanks to a new marketing device to promote the Morocco destination, the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) has made an ambitious change in its operating model, with a strategy aimed at revitalizing the tourism sector in 2022.

As for the National Confederation of Tourism (CNT), it held, according to the same source, several working and consultation sessions with representatives of all tourism trades in the region, and recently, a meeting held in Agadir in the presence of representatives of the Agadir Souss-Massa Regional Tourism Council and the new office of the National Confederation of Tourism, where the revival of the tourism sector after the pandemic was at the center of discussions.

Tribute to tourism stakeholders

On the occasion of World Tourism Day celebrated on September 27 of each year, the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) launched an unprecedented campaign to put workers in the sector in the spotlight.

“For the ONMT, it was important to pay tribute to these women and men who are the guarantors of the customer experience and who therefore help to promote the Morocco tourism brand. This recognition is all the more important in this difficult period that tourism operators are going through at all levels of the value scale, ”said Adel El Fakir, Director General of ONMT, in a statement.
