The historic course of the Atlas Lions has a positive impact on tourism

-

The historic course of the Atlas Lions at the Qatar 2022 World Cup has a more than positive impact on Moroccan tourism.

Interest in Morocco as a destination has been apparent from match to match since the start of the Qatar 2022 World Cup. According to a press release from the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, “13 million mentions of ‘Morocco’ were recorded on social networks and more than 130 million interactions around Morocco content were counted”, whereas a normal average over the year is around 500,000 mentions”.

“The monitoring of trends carried out by the teams of the supervisory ministry since the start of the 2022 World Cup has shown an unprecedented interest in Morocco, particularly in the ranks of celebrities, stars and opinion leaders who represented 40% Internet users who have spoken positively of the kingdom on the web”, specifies the same source. Influential international media have also taken an interest in the destination by producing important coverage that can have a positive impact on Morocco.

Clearly, the breakthrough of the Atlas Lions at the 2022 World Cup has reinforced Morocco’s visibility on an international scale, which will benefit the tourism sector, which should revitalize.
