Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and El Al Israel Airlines signed a Code Share agreement today in Tel Aviv. “This agreement promises to be fruitful for both countries… However, the question of the Israeli visa for Moroccans who wish to discover this tourist destination remains to be settled as urgently as possible”, warn several professionals of the tourism.
It’s official. The code sharing between these two companies, effective today, will include, in a first phase, direct flights operated by RAM and AL Israel Airlines between the Kingdom and Israel.
Thus, the Israeli airline schedules regular flights linking Tel Aviv and Marrakech at the rate of three rotations per week while Royal Air Maroc, for its part, has just inaugurated its new direct air route linking Casablanca to Tel Aviv at the rate of four frequencies initially, to quickly increase to five flights per week.
Moreover, in a press release from the two signatories sent to LesInfos.ma, it is explained that this agreement will make it possible to offer customers of the two companies more options in terms of timetables and combinability between Marrakech, Casablanca and Tel. Aviv and will connect the networks of the two companies with more fluid connections thanks to the possibility of end-to-end passenger and baggage check-in.
And to specify: “This agreement is only a first milestone in the cooperation of the two companies which have set themselves the objective of offering their customers a wider choice of destinations, more practical connections beyond the hubs of the two companies and an optimized customer experience”.
“We are very pleased to conclude this important partnership with EL AL which will contribute to the reinforcement of our traffic, and will make it possible to offer our passengers a connection to additional destinations as well as a better customer journey thanks to the optimized connections and the operations of end-to-end check-in, with international assistance in the airports of the networks operated by the two companies”, declared Hamid Addou, Chairman and CEO of Compagnie Marocaine during a ceremony organized on the sidelines of the inaugural flight. of Royal Air Maroc between Casablanca and Tel Aviv.
On this occasion, Avigal Soreo, CEO of the Israeli company also spoke, saying he was delighted with “this partnership concluded between the two official flag carriers of the two countries in the field of air transport”, before highlighting that this collaboration “is a great achievement carried out in a relatively short time since the conclusion of the Abraham Accords which made it possible to establish official relations”.
He also said that “For Israelis, this partnership will provide them with an additional and diversified travel offer to destinations in Morocco and Africa. Israelis appreciate the tourist destination of Morocco and we are convinced that Moroccans will also be seduced by Israel as an attractive tourist destination”.
“On this subject, Moroccans have no idea what steps to follow to obtain a visa in order to travel to Israel, knowing that just that, unless there is proof to the contrary, the visa exemption for Moroccans wishing to discovering this attractive tourist destination has not yet been recorded!!”, hammer many tourism professionals who fear that their Moroccan customers will be turned back at the Israeli borders for lack of a valid visa.
