As part of its investment plan called Envol 2025, aimed at supporting the development of the tourism sector, the National Airports Office (ONDA) will mobilize an amount of 4 billion dirhams in 2023 to support the growth of the activity of the airports of Marrakech, Agadir and Tangier.
These identified airport platforms were already experiencing a saturation of capacity long before the health crisis, reports Today Morocco, which quotes the Director of ONDA, Habiba Laklalech. Thus, with the resumption of activities, the office decided to intensify renovation and development projects.
“We have already initiated a number of actions at the airports of Marrakech, Agadir and Tangier while waiting for much larger infrastructure projects which will start next year. “said the manager.
In this sense, the amount of investments would be around 4 billion dirhams for these three airports in 2023, specifies the same source, stressing that the office is examining more innovative methods of financing to start development projects.
In its action plan, ONDA relies on sustainability in all aspects of airport life. “From now on, in all the infrastructure projects that we are going to undertake, we will integrate the environmental dimension from the moment we start the design until the moment we build the airport”, continued Habiba Laklalech.
