Marrakech is in the top 5 of the most romantic destinations in the world. This is what emerges from the ranking of a specialized site.
According to the ranking of DiscoverCars.com, a website specialized in car rental, Marrakech is in fifth place out of 23 romantic destinations worldwide with nearly 440 million TikTok views and the hashtags #Marrakesh and #MarrakechLovers. The ochre city is followed by Siem Reap in Cambodia, Lausanne in Switzerland and Shimla in India.
To compile its ranking of the 23 best romantic destinations, “to enjoy special moments with their partner, DiscoverCars tapped into Forbes’ list, among other things, and then took into consideration each destination’s relevant hashtag and a romantically themed hashtag on TikTok before ranking them based on the number of views.
“It’s always valuable to keep an eye on current trends across social media platforms, especially when it comes to travel,” said the site’s manager. He added: We found it extremely interesting to see places like Queenstown and Svalbard in the top five, which are not particularly the tourist spots that come to mind when planning a romantic getaway. This highlights the number of options available to couples.”
