Hospitality: Three Moroccan palaces among the best in the world in 2022

-

Three Moroccan palaces are among the 100 best luxury hotels in the world for the year 2022, according to the latest ranking by the prestigious American publication Travel & Leisure.

These are Royal Mansour, Oberoi and Mandarin Oriental which are all located in Marrakech.

Royal Mansour, ranked 5th worldwide and in pole position in North Africa and the Middle East (MENA), is described by the American media as a historic site par excellence which stands out for its hectares of gardens, its 53 riads, its finely carved arches and Moorish tiled courtyards.

Still according to this survey carried out among the readers of Travel & Leisure to establish the classification of the World’s Best Awards based on their opinions and their travel experiences around the world, the other Moroccan palace which has distinguished itself by occupying the 17th in the world is the Oberoi of Marrakech, “which impresses both by its size and its Moorish architecture”“.

According to the US media, this masterpiece is located in a 1.2 million square foot orchard of citrus and olive trees and whose villas have private swimming pools for ultimate privacy, and an Ayurvedic spa offering meditation, yoga and healing treatments.

In this ranking, Mandarin Oriental, for its part, made its debut by occupying the 57th position. This Marrakech palace, which houses 54 suites and villas “both rustic and elegant”, has 20 hectares of palm trees, olive trees and sparkling lakes, in addition to a Hakkasan restaurant, large swimming pools and a huge spa.

The Travel & Leisure ranking assesses the best hotel destinations each year based on facilities, location, service and catering.

In addition, La Mamounia was ranked sixth in the top 10 of the best luxury hotels in the MENA region.
