The city of Chefchaouen is among the 22 best destinations to visit in 2022. This is according to a survey carried out by the American group specializing in travel, Ovation Travel Group.
The poll specifies that only two of the top 22 destinations are in the United States, with the rest being geographically distant and much less known to American travelers. In a statement to Forbes, Paul Metselaar, CEO of Ovation Travel Group said travelers want to cross borders and have new experiences. This is also reflected in the list of 22 must-see destinations in 2022. “We are seeing a huge accumulation of demand for international travel, certainly the highest since 2019,” he said.
Chefchaouen is one of the best destinations to visit next year. It owes its fame to its charm, its picturesque side. Nicknamed the Blue Pearl, Chefchaouen has retained an Andalusian-influenced soul. It is the most Hispano-Moorish of Moroccan cities. “With its houses built into the mountainside, its narrow winding streets and the haunting blue color that covers the city, Chefchaouen looks like something out of a dream,” says Ashley Diamond, luxury travel advisor for Ovation Travel Group. “This enchanting provincial capital invites you to stroll, to discover its rich heritage, to admire the architectural treasures which inhabit its alleys and to meet its inhabitants”, she adds.
The other 21 best destinations to visit in 2022 are: Taormina (Italy), London (England), Santa Fe (New Mexico), Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Anguilla (British Overseas Territory), Ljubljana (Slovenia ), Faroe Islands (North Atlantic, Denmark), Ischia (Italy), Banff (Canada), Galapagos Islands (Ecuador), Mallorca (Spain), Porto (Portugal), Bodrum (Turkey), Seychelles, Napa Valley (California) , Quito (Ecuador), San Sebastian (Spain), Yucatan (Mexico), Côte de Granit Rose (France), Namibia, and Paro (Bhutan).
