Airports: Morocco targets 60 million passenger capacity by 2030

-

The Moroccan airport network currently offers a capacity of 39 million passengers per year and is expected to grow even more, said the official, stressing that the ONDA and its partners are working closely to smooth the path of the passenger at the airports, preserve its health and safety, provide catering services and diversified entertainment, as well as reliable and relevant information services.

For his part, the Director General of the ONMT, Adel El Fakir, said that this event, which brings together the family of global air transport and travel, is a great moment and also a new opportunity to strengthen the air component, which remains one of the main levers for the development of the tourism sector. We expect to refer more Morocco to airlines, to increase and diversify the air service to Morocco and all its destinations, “he noted.

This meeting is an opportunity to position Morocco as a major tourist destination on all global air operators and strengthen the efforts of the ONMT to connect Morocco to a maximum of global markets, said the official, noting that at the end of 2022, the programming of Morocco by airlines has exceeded the level of pre health crisis.

The target capacity in seats, projected for the current year is 8.2 million, said El Fakir, noting that to achieve this, several agreements and partnerships have been signed recently between the ONMT and airlines.

The official said in this regard, the ONMT has opened, in partnership with 10 airlines, 35 new air routes serving 8 Moroccan destinations for the summer season 2023.

Recall that this event “unavoidable” in the agenda of the air is organized by the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) and the National Office of Airports (ONDA), in partnership with the Regional Council of Tourism Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (CRT-TTA) and will be held until February 24.
