Film production company Paramount has set a release date for the U.S.-British film Gladiator 2 soon to be shot in Ouarzazate, Morocco.
Paramount has announced that the sequel to the U.S.-British film Gladiator will be released on November 22, 2024, reports Deadline. Filming is expected to begin in May. Irish actor Paul Mescal, known for his role in the series Normal People, will play Lucius, the son of Lucilla (Connie Nielsen), who is now a grown man, with the story set years after the end of the first film. Lucius was also the nephew of Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), the son of Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius, who murdered his father to take the throne.
Released in 2000 in the United States and winner of five Oscars, including best film and best actor, Gladiator is a film directed by Ridley Scott with Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix.
