Authorizations issued by the National Agency for the Regulation of Cannabis Activities concern the exercise of cannabis processing and manufacturing activities, the marketing and export of cannabis and its products for medical, pharmaceutical and industrial purposes.
A few days after the appointment of its interim director, Mohamed El Guerrouj, the National Agency for the Regulation of Cannabis-Related Activities (ANRAC) announced on Tuesday that it had issued 10 authorizations for the exercise of cannabis processing and manufacturing activities, as well as as the marketing and export of cannabis and its products for medical, pharmaceutical and industrial purposes.
This issuance is part of the implementation of the provisions of Law No. 13-21 relating to the legal uses of cannabis, ANRAC said in a press release.
Following the issuance of these authorizations, the Agency will initiate, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 13-21, the authorization process for farmers located within the regulatory perimeter (provinces of Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen and Taounate) to exercise the activity of cultivation and production of cannabis within the framework of agricultural cooperatives.
Farmers will be authorized gradually on the basis of the needs expressed by authorized manufacturers, notes the same source.
In addition, the Agency continues to explore the opportunities offered by the cannabis market in order to develop this sector and promote the conversion of farmers from illicit cultivation to legal, sustainable and income-generating cultivation, underlines the press release.
