The province of Quebec will be the guest of honor of the 28th edition of the book fair and publishing, which will be held from 1 to 11 June at OLM Souissi in Rabat.
After the celebration last year of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Canada, we are honored to welcome, in this 28th edition, Quebec (Canada) as a special guest. This cultural exchange promises to visitors to the show the discovery of the latest news from the world of publishing and book Quebec, “said the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, in a message published on the official website of the Show.
The director of the office of Quebec in Rabat was pleased, for her part, “this focus on Quebec at the 28th edition of the International Book Fair and publishing,” adding that this event “also sets an important milestone in relations between Quebec (Canada) and Morocco, especially in the field of cultural cooperation.
“Quebecers are proud of their culture, because it is original, diverse, bold, but also because it is part of their DNA,” she continued, noting that “authors and Quebecers can present their works, discover their ideas, propose their stories and express their vision of the world, in all simplicity.
This fair represents “so many opportunities that allows this great literary event and, for visitors, to discover new works and new talents,” she noted.
And to propose, as guest of honor, a varied program that will allow visitors to the Salon to participate in meetings and debates with writers, publishers and booksellers in Quebec.
The 2023 edition of the International Book Fair will be held in Rabat, for the second consecutive year, after its relocation from the economic capital, Casablanca.
The relocation of this cultural event, usually held in Casablanca, is due to the reorganization of the exhibition space of the economic capital, for logistical reasons, had indicated in February, the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, noting that an international exhibition of children’s books and youth, as well as a major national book fair will be organized in Casablanca.
