The Google search engine, launched on the Internet on September 27, 1998, celebrates its 23rd birthday today. In 2020, more than 90% of Moroccans used Google “as their main search engine,” according to a study.
The statistics portal Statista carried out a study to determine in certain countries the “percentage of Internet users who used Google as their main search engine” throughout the year 2020. The results of the study indicate that more than 90 % of Internet users from countries such as Morocco, Australia, Spain, Italy, Brazil and Mexico prefer this search engine to another.
The top users of Google, according to the study, are in Cuba (96.94%), Venezuela (95.82%) and India (95.27%). Only 6.83% of Internet users use this search engine in China.
Developed by Larry Page and Sergey Brin in 1997 but launched in 1998, the Google search engine that revolutionized the web, today celebrates its 23 years of creation. The key to its success is that it makes it easy to access information on the Internet.
