The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE), a global coalition of audiovisual industry players fighting against content piracy, announced on Monday the closure of the activities of the pirate platform Electro TV Sat, based in Morocco. .

While the platform attracted nearly 90,000 visitors per month, mainly French, the managers of the Canal Plus channel did not fail to express their satisfaction at the closure of services which were particularly harmful to them, according to Broadband tv news.

Cécile Boyer, director of content protection that the Canal + group has been fighting for years against audiovisual piracy and our presence within ACE is proof of our involvement in this fight. The successive successes of ACE in the Maghreb testify to a new dynamic in the global fight against piracy and will necessarily shake up the feeling of impunity of pirate IPTV resellers, which I can only be delighted about ”.

Jan van Voorn, executive vice president and head of global content protection for the Motion Picture Association, also commented on the closure, recalling that “online content theft is the greatest threat to the global creative community” and that “We will continue to work tirelessly to protect the integrity of the legal film, television and streaming industry around the world.
