Google has unveiled the most searched words in the world during this time when the World Cup is being played in Qatar. The term “Morocco” tops the ranking.
According to the latest Google trends associated with Morocco, the national team is the most sought after for the 2022 World Cup in the world. For example, 90% of Kenyans have searched for information about the Atlas Lions in the past week. Interest in the keyword ‘Morocco’ reached a peak of 4,700% during the quarter-final match between Morocco and Portugal, won by the Atlas Lions (1-0). Google says Portugal, Argentina, Brazil and Croatia are also on the list.
In a statement, Google says search data shows there has also been interest in the Morocco-France duel. The names “Achraf Hakimi”, “Yassine Bounou”, “Hakim Ziyech”, “Sofiane Boufal” and “Sofyan Amrabat” are the most sought after.
In Morocco, fans sought to know more about the time (Moroccan) at which the national team will play against France. They also wanted to know the plan under which the French team plays and the number of matches played by the Moroccan national team against France.
After their defeat against France in the semi-finals, Morocco will face Croatia this Saturday at 4 p.m. in the small final to try to clinch third place.
