Moroccans come first among foreign nationals who bought real estate in Spain, according to a study carried out by the specialized site idealista.com.
Sales of real estate in Spain are doing well. Sales of apartments or houses by foreigners have increased by 47% in the first six months of 2021, according to a study carried out by the site specializing in real estate transactions idealista.com. The number of transactions reached 47,683 purchases and sales.
Unlike last year when the British formed the first contingent of buyers of real estate in Spain, this time it is the Moroccans who come to the top of this ranking with the purchase of 5,159 properties, which represents 10, 8% of total transactions. Moroccans are followed by the British (9.7%) and Romanians (5.6%). The British thus lost first place in this ranking for the first time since 2007.
Regarding the purchase of the most expensive properties, Moroccans do not appear in this ranking, however, since it is dominated by the Swedes, Danes and Germans. The prices per square meter of these properties vary between 2,676 and 2,768 square meters).
