During a sharing meeting on Monday at the Faculty of Medicine of the Mohammed VI University of Health Sciences in Casablanca, Moroccan immunologist, Dr. Moncef Slaoui, reviewed the best ways to succeed in a professional career.
The path to a successful professional career begins with a realistic ambition, said the researcher, adding that any student who plans to achieve his ambitions, must necessarily be inspired by one or more successful models to make an example, while developing self-confidence and perseverance to escape the enemies of success. During this session to share his career and his knowledge with students, especially in the field of science relating to human health which requires teamwork, Slaoui specified that the objectives must exceed the nature of the tasks enacted to the team, without forgetting that passion always grows to perfection.
Professional success does not necessarily involve programming that could limit the objectives set, he noted, adding that without the illness of a loved one, he would not have been interested in medicine and without having married a virologist. , he would not have taken part in the development of vaccines, especially against childhood rotavirus gastroenteritis, cervical cancer and the Ebola epidemic.
As a reminder, Doctor Moncef Slaoui, born in 1959 in Agadir, carried out a series of missions at GlaxoSmithKline where he worked for thirty years as consultant in immunology and head of the vaccines division. On May 15, 2020, he was appointed by former US President Donald Trump to head the scientific team in charge of Operation Warp Speed, which consists of finding an anti-Covid-19 vaccine. An appointment deserved by the way for his expertise and much appreciated by the former US president.
