In a statement to the press at the end of the meeting of the Royal Commission in charge of the pilgrimage, Mr. Toufiq said that “the lists of citizens who will perform the rites of Hajj this year will be established on the basis of people who have retained their right to Hajj under the previous season, with the use of the waiting list of the draw of 2019 in order to fulfill the quota. The Minister stressed that the condition of accompanying (Mahram) women under 45 years of age has been canceled, adding that people who have performed the Hajj during the last ten years and children under 18 years will not be eligible.
After recalling that the Royal Commission in charge of the pilgrimage has taken note of the pilgrimage fees for this year, which “differ only slightly from those of last year”, Mr. Taoufiq assured that the announcement of the Hajj fees supervised by the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs for the 1444 season is scheduled for February 15, 2023 at the latest.
The first contingent of pilgrims will travel to the Holy Places in early June 2023, while the period of stay of pilgrims has been set from 28 to 30 days, the Minister added.
He said that the online registration for the draw for the Hajj 1445 season will be held from 20 to 30 March next.
