Spanish wine exports (in bulk) to Morocco increased significantly in 2022 (+9.2 million liters). In all, Spanish wine exports have reached a record turnover of 2.9 billion euros, an increase of 89.6 million compared to 2021.
Spain has been able to achieve this record of wine exports in this difficult context marked by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the energy crisis and rising energy and fuel prices, among others. However, the volume exported has fallen by 9%, nearly 213 million liters less than in 2021, of which about 150 million are bulk wine, reveals the report on “Spanish exports of wine and wine products in 2022” made by the Spanish Wine Market Observatory (OeMv).
According to this document cited by Diario de Gastronomia, the turnover of Spanish wine exports fell in March (-23.6%) and November 2022 (-1.8%), but increased in the other months, closing the year with a record 2.9 billion euros. The volume of Spanish wines exported to Italy, Germany, Portugal and France decreased overall by 111.4 million liters in 2022. However, there is an increase in the volume exported to France (+30 million euros) and Germany (+19.5 million euros).
In addition to bulk wine exports to Morocco (+9.2 million liters) and the United Kingdom (+7.5 million) have increased, Spanish bottled wine exports to the United States have also increased, reaching 258.1 million euros (+11%).
