81.6% of Moroccans believe that teleworking saves time but also money on transport, according to a survey launched by the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) on its ouchariko.ma platform.
The majority of Moroccans are in favor of telework. Asked about the advantages of teleworking on the EESC’s citizen participation platform, ouchariko.ma, more than half of the respondents felt that it allowed them to reduce their level of stress, to have more autonomy in task management and better concentration. This survey, conducted from April 8 to 29, 2022, will be included in the Board’s 2021 report, with a focus this year on the theme of teleworking.
According to the ESEC, “27,638 people interacted with the subject” and 1,326 of them took part in the survey which aimed to assess their perception of telework, its advantages and disadvantages as well as the prospects for introducing this mode of working. work in Morocco.
Thus, 61% of respondents consider that the disadvantages of teleworking are the undefined working hours, followed by the lack of separation between professional and private life (50%).
Other disadvantages were noted by the participants: the difficulties of supervision and orientation (26.5%) as well as the feeling of isolation from the work environment (26.2%).
Regarding the perception of teleworking, nearly 64% of respondents consider it a full-fledged way of working, while 24% perceive it as a temporary option to be applied in the event of force majeure. Around 12% of respondents believe that “teleworking is a way of staying at home”.
74% of participants say they have already experienced teleworking. Among these people, almost 14% declare having practiced it before the Covid, and more than 71% during confinement, compared to 15% after the Covid crisis.
Regarding the equipment needed to do it, 64% of respondents needed to invest in equipment to be able to telecommute. Among the latter, 81% consider the internet connection as an investment made in relation to teleworking. 66% had to set up a workspace and 55% bought suitable computer equipment.
