The Moroccan authorities proceeded Tuesday to the official launch of the procedures which will allow the integration of the Amazigh in the public administrations. The ceremony was chaired by the head of government Aziz Akhannouch.
During the ceremony organized by the Ministry of Digital Transition in partnership with the Royal Institute of Amazigh Culture (IRCAM), the guests were treated to the presentation of a set of measures and procedures whose role is to “facilitate the access of people who speak the language to public services”.
For Aziz Akhannouch, “the official recognition of the Amazigh language is the fruit of the royal will which has made it possible to make great progress over the past twenty years. This historic turning point began with the speech of Ajdir delivered by the King in 2001”, rejoicing at the culmination of a process that does not date from today. “Thanks to the efforts of the current government, we are witnessing demonstrations of the sustainability of the activation of the official character of Amazigh as stipulated in the 2011 constitution, in line with the proactive vision of the king,” he added. .
For her part, the Minister of Digital Transition, Ghita Mezzour, explained that “one of the most important projects is that there are now 460 auxiliaries in all regions of the Kingdom who speak the three dialects” this which will facilitate communication with the citizens concerned and will “help and guide them in their language to facilitate their access to public services, in particular administrative and health services”.
In addition, the Ministry of Digital Transition has signed several agreements with other ministries to promote Amazigh culture and identity. An application will also be developed with the aim of helping citizens and Moroccans abroad to learn the language.
