His Majesty King Mohammed VI pleaded for a Morocco and an Algeria working hand in hand to establish normal relations.
“We aspire to work with the Algerian presidency so that Morocco and Algeria can work, hand in hand, to establish normal relations between two brotherly peoples, united by history, human ties and the community of destiny”, underlined the Sovereign in His Speech addressed, Saturday evening, to the Nation on the occasion of the Feast of the Throne.
HM the King also assured the Moroccan people of His firm will to find a way out of the current situation and to promote rapprochement, communication and understanding between the two peoples.
In this regard, the Sovereign stressed once again that “the borders which separate the Moroccan people and the brotherly Algerian people will never be barriers preventing their interaction and understanding”, expressing the wish that “these borders will change into bridges allowing Morocco and Algeria to access a better future and to offer a fine example of harmony to the other Maghreb peoples”.
On this occasion, HM the King urged Moroccans to preserve the spirit of brotherhood, solidarity and good neighborliness that animates them with regard to their Algerian brothers.
“Besides, we assure them that in all circumstances, Morocco and Moroccans will always stand by their side,” HM the King argued, saying that the allegations that Moroccans insult Algeria and Algerians ” are the work of irresponsible individuals who strive to sow discord between the two brotherly peoples”.
“These gossip about Moroccan-Algerian relations is totally senseless and sincerely appalling,” the Sovereign lamented, adding that “as far as We are concerned, We have never allowed or will allow anyone to harm our brothers and sisters. neighbors”.
