Spanish Television shuns a Polisario film festival

-

The management of the public Spanish Radio Television (RTVE) has decided to shun “FiSahara”, the film festival organized by the Polisario, from October 11 to 16, in the Tindouf camps in Algeria. The company declined the organizers’ invitation to send journalists to cover the event on site.

Faced with the insistence of a Spanish media, RTVE ended up explaining that “it is not a coverage that is usually done with a special correspondent, but only with information that comes [to him] from the organization, participants or agencies”.

Despite this decision by RTVE, the Polisario film festival enjoys the support of cultural circles in Spain. Witness the prize that the Spanish Academy of Cinema granted, this Tuesday, October 11, to “FiSahara”.

As a reminder, the management of Spanish Radio and Television, an organization under the supervision of the Pedro Sanchez government, had prohibited its journalists from covering the commemoration of a Polisario party, organized in October 2021 in the Tindouf camps.
