Morocco-Algeria: Moroccan soldiers ready for war

-

The Moroccan army is prepared to face any possible attack from Algeria. This is evidenced by the recent visit of Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz to Morocco, according to local press.

Matthias Inbar, the i24news journalist who accompanied Benny Gantz on his historic visit to Morocco, underlined the symbolic nature of the visit of the Israeli Minister of Defense to a Moroccan military base. “There is a visit to a military base of the paratroopers. This is the first time and the symbol was particularly strong, of the Israeli military in uniform inside a military base in Morocco, ”he said.

“I was able to talk to Moroccan soldiers on the off. We have seen that there is an excess of confidence. These Moroccan soldiers say they are ready for a fight against Algeria, ”he said, adding that Moroccan soldiers have occasionally expressed their readiness to train with their new Israeli allies. The Israeli Minister of Defense also had “a meeting with the head of the Moroccan secret services where there was question of strategy”.

For TSA Algeria, the state of mind of the Moroccan army described by the Israeli media is “further proof of the war intentions of King Mohammed VI and his army towards Algeria”. However, the Moroccan monarch assured on July 31 that the kingdom is neither a “danger” nor a “threat” for Algeria, recalls the Algerian media.

Algeria severed diplomatic relations with Morocco last August. In early November, she accused the kingdom of killing three Algerian truckers in the Sahara. Morocco has not reacted to these accusations.
