-

The Royal Armed Forces have acquired, since July, a new radar, the Ground Master 400, indicates a French media. A monitoring system, marketed since 2008, manufactured by the French companies Thales Group and the American Raythéon.

Radar has “considerable effects on airspace protection needs. Easily deployable ”. An essential asset “for the long-range detection of threats”. “It can be installed on a truck in order to be redeployed to another site in less than an hour (…) Its range exceeds 500 km”, underlines Thales Group in a presentation note for the Ground Master 400.

“With the Ground Master 400, the Royal Moroccan Air Forces have a decisive advantage in terms of protection of their territory and air surveillance. This new contract testifies to the renewed confidence of the Moroccan authorities in Thales, a long-standing partner of the country ”, explains Christophe Salomon, Deputy Managing Director Land and Air Systems, Thales.

The contract for this new acquisition was signed in 2019. It should be remembered that the FAR have had, since 2013, a GM 400 radar.
