OMPIC: nearly 7,000 companies created in January 2023

-

6910 companies were registered by the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC) at the beginning of 2023, reports Aujourd’hui Le Maroc in today’s edition. The daily informs us that 4.409 companies were created as legal entities and 2.501 companies as natural persons at the end of January 2023, and that these creations show the blow compared to the rhythm recorded in the same month of the previous year, that is to say 7.082 newly created entities including 4.730 companies as legal entities and 2.352 companies as natural persons.

“The trends noted in the first month of the year show a concentration of creations at the level of the axis Casablanca-Rabat-Tanger. In total, 2,065 companies were created at the level of Casablanca-Settat in January 2023, “said the OMPIC, adding that the region of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima has, for its part, 1,077 new registrations. Similarly, there are 755 new businesses in Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, 690 in Marrakech-Safi, 471 in Fez-Meknes, 458 in Souss-Massa and 433 in the Oriental. “330 companies were born in January at the level of Laâyoune-Sakia el Hamra, against 209 at the level of Beni Mellal-Khenifra, 177 at the level of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, 174 at the level of Draa-Tafilalet and 71 at the level of Guelmim-Oued Noun,” says Aujourd’hui Le Maroc.

Note that, by sector, the commercial activity dominates, especially since 38.84% of the newly created entities were made in this sector, against 17.35% having opted for various services. Let us specify that 16.76% of the new registrations operate in the BTP and the real activities and 7.12% in the industries. For its part, the hotel and restaurant sector captures 6.01% of new creations, ahead of the ICT sector (2.86%) and that of agriculture and fishing (1.8%), adds the OMPIC. “In contrast, financial activities represent only 0.99% of newly created businesses. Note that 57.8% of new registrations have the legal form SARLAU (Limited Liability Company with a single shareholder),” it says. Note that another 41.8% have the status of the SARL (Limited Liability Company), when barely 0.03% of new creations are registered in the form of Limited Company (SA). It should also be noted that the month of January was marked by the removal of 1,049 companies, while 1,060 entities have entered the dissolution phase.
