In 2021, nearly 8,000 companies were created in Marrakech, up 27% from 2020, according to the region’s regional investment center (CRI).
More specifically, 7,930 companies were created in the year in the ocher city, specifies the CRI-MS, according to which investors took advantage of a favorable general context, with a sustained economic recovery, the multiplication of programs of funding, and improving access to these programs.
This upward trend is also explained by the restructuring of the creation activity which has enabled the doubling of appointments as well as the efforts made in terms of awareness, economic impetus and support.
According to the figures revealed by the director of the CRI-MS, Yassine Mseffer, 65 meetings of the Unified Regional Investment Commission were held, which made it possible to grant a favorable opinion (or favorable with reservations) to 194 projects (i.e. increase of +341% compared to 2020), for an overall investment amount of 36.67 billion dirhams and 34,470 projected jobs.
