Spanish wine exports to Morocco surged at the end of September 2021, registering an increase of 23.6% compared to the same period last year.
According to official statistics, Morocco imported more than 110 million euros of Spanish wines, in particular from the region of Castile, during the first nine months of the year 2021, reports Maghreb Intelligence, specifying that the imports Moroccan Spanish wines grew 23.6% over the same period a year ago.
By these figures, Morocco overtakes Algeria, which imported only 20 million euros of Spanish wines during the period. Portugal, a neighboring country to Spain, remains the largest importer of Spanish wines with more than 1.2 billion euros. It is followed by France with more than 1 billion euros and Italy with 578 million euros.
