At Expo Dubai 2020, Morocco presented its potential and investment opportunities in the agricultural sector. Objective: to encourage economic operators to opt for green investment projects.
On the occasion, a conference was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture during which the Moroccan delegation reviewed the achievements of the Green Morocco Plan and the axes of the “Green Generation 2020-2030” strategy.
In this sense, participants were treated to a presentation by Redouane Arrach, Director of Strategy and Statistics at the Ministry of Agriculture, on Morocco’s ambitions to achieve a sustainable food system. “The new development strategy for the agricultural sector in Morocco was based on the consolidation of achievements and achievements within the framework of the Green Morocco Plan, as well as on new aspirations dictated by changes in the national and international economy”, indicated Arrach.
And to add that “Green Generation 2020-2030” aims to help young people invest in one million hectares of arable land, create around 350,000 jobs and increase agricultural exports to 60 billion dirhams, or 6, $ 6 billion in 2030.
For his part, the Director General of the Agricultural Development Agency (ADA), El Mahdi Arrifi recalled the missions of the Agricultural Development Agency which wishes to provide investors with information on investment opportunities and the climate. business in the agricultural sector in Morocco and advise them on the choice of their investment projects.
“The public-private sector partnership aims to attract national and foreign investment in the agricultural sector, to make better use of the stock of available agricultural land, to create high added value, to contribute to the development of basic production chains in the sector. and to create job offers, ”he stressed.
