The Moroccan restaurant Dar Yemma based in Astoria, United States, is the victim of a harassment campaign from the French influencer Kenza Benchrif, better known as Poupette Kenza and her community of more than one million followers on Snapchat.
A disagreement between the managers of Dar Yemma, and Kenza Benchrif, known online as Poupette is said to be behind the harassment campaign. The restaurant refused to pay 2,500 euros to the French influencer in exchange for temporary Snapchat stories about the establishment during her visit to New York in December, reports The New York Times. Confiding in the American media outlet, the restaurant’s co-owner Saber Bouteraa shared that in addition to the negative reviews, the establishment also experienced a flood of hateful messages on Instagram from France.
Tensions have risen after Kenza Benchrif published a series of Snapchat videos this week. Videos deleted but archived by her fans on TikTok. Without naming the restaurant, the influencer suggested that the wife of a manager of Dar Yemma would have tried to kidnap her, reports Eater New York. Accusations beaten in vain by Saber Bouteraa.
