Rabat: Opening of a reception center dedicated to Moroccans around the world

The Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Living Abroad (MRE) opened a reception center today in Rabat for the benefit of Moroccans around the world, as part of Operation Marhaba 2022.
This center, open at the Foundation’s headquarters until September 15 (from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 days a week), mobilized executives specialized in the legal and economic fields, as well as two specialized executives from the General Directorate of Taxes and of the National Land Registry Agency, in order to assist MREs and respond to their requests.

In addition, the General Directorate of Customs remains in line with the Foundation to respond to requests related to their area of ​​intervention.

The Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Living Abroad has six poles, deployed in order to best meet the needs and expectations of Moroccans around the world in terms of education and cultural diversity, legal and social assistance, art, culture and communication, cooperation and partnership or even economic promotion, including a remote service provided every day, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

During a meeting with the press, the director of the Foundation’s cooperation and partnership division, Fouad Benmakhlouf noted that this division, which was created in 2000 and structured in 2002, has the mission of developing cooperation actions with the authorities public authorities, NGOs or international organizations specializing in migration issues.

“Each year, the Foundation receives nearly 200 projects of a social, cultural or sporting nature, for the benefit of Moroccans living abroad”, he said, indicating that the Foundation ensures the deployment of activities in favor of Moroccan sportsmen and women in Morocco. foreigner, the elderly, children or even women who today represent nearly 50% of Moroccan immigration.

For his part, the legal expert in matters of MRE, Zakaria El Omari, underlined that the legal and social assistance pole plays a role of intervention in favor of Moroccans of the world, to accelerate the management of their administrative and legal disputes on the national plan.

This approach is being done in coordination with the national courts and public authorities concerned in order to provide the necessary legal assistance and preserve the rights of MREs, he continued.

Created in 1990 by the late HM Hassan II and chaired by HRH Princess Lalla Meryem, the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Residing Abroad is governed by Law No. 19-89 promulgated by Dahir No. 1-90-79 of 20 Hija 1410 (13 July 1990). It is a non-profit institution, endowed with legal personality and financial autonomy. Its purpose is to work to maintain the fundamental links that Moroccans residing abroad have with their homeland and to help them overcome the difficulties they encounter as a result of their emigration.

To this end, the Foundation deploys a range of programs in the cultural, legal, economic and social fields, which mobilize more than 700 people, including more than 600 abroad.
