Operation Marhaba 2022: More than 700,000 MRE landed in Morocco from Spain

-

More than 700,000 MREs arrived in Morocco from Spanish ports during Operation Marhaba 2022. This was revealed by the EFE agency, which cites Civil Protection figures. During the departure phase, 700,000 travelers and 170,000 vehicles had left the seven Spanish ports chosen as part of this expedition to the Kingdom, she said. The ports of Tarifa and Algeciras received the highest traffic with 74% and 73.2% of passengers respectively.

Also according to these statistics, 25,588 passengers passed through Spanish ports during the return phase, which began on July 15, 2022, including 21,364 in Algeciras and Tarifa, and 6,700 vehicles, including 5,641 via the two ports of Cadiz.

As a reminder, several measures have been taken by the Spanish and Moroccan authorities to facilitate the movement of MREs between the two countries. These include the establishment of security and safety conditions, communication, as well as administrative and consular support.
