Moroccans constitute the largest community of foreigners in Malaga, far ahead of Ukrainians and Chinese.
According to the municipal register of Malaga, the city has 39,265 regularly registered foreign citizens from 148 countries around the world. Among this strong foreign community, Moroccans are the most numerous, with 9,456 nationals including 5,414 men and 4,042 women, El Español reported. They are followed by Ukrainians, with 4,488 citizens (1,725 men and 2,763 women), Chinese, with 3,638 citizens (1,874 men and 1,764 women), Paraguayans, with more than 3,400 citizens, Italians , with over 3,000 citizens and Colombians with over 2,300 citizens.
The city of the Costa del Sol also has foreigners from Vietnam (13), New Zealand (4), United Arab Emirates (4), Madagascar (5), Afghanistan (3), Palestine (38), etc. Over the past decade, Morocco was already one of the strongest foreign communities in Malaga, with 8,778 citizens. At the time, Ukraine had 3,313, or 1,175 less than today, and the Chinese numbered 2,373, or 1,300 more.
