Moroccans in Canada are mobilizing in support of the national cause

-

The Moroccan community in Canada organized, on Sunday in Montreal, a demonstration in support of the Moroccanness of the Sahara and the decisive action of the Kingdom to restore free movement at the passage from El Guerguerat to the Moroccan Sahara.
This event, organized in the form of a car rally by the Atlas Media Group in collaboration with associations, representatives of Moroccan parties and community stakeholders, was an opportunity for participants to also express their pride in the American recognition of the Kingdom’s full sovereignty over its Sahara.

“Our primary objective through this rally is to express our conviction as to the inalienable character of the Moroccanness of the southern provinces,” Abdelghani Dades, publisher and co-founder of the Atlas Medias Group, told MAP. Washington’s acknowledgment of this reality, he said, “prompts us to urge Canada to do the same.”

The convoy, made up of a large number of cars adorned with Moroccan flags, crisscrossed the main arteries of the Canadian metropolis, in strict compliance with the health measures in force, against a backdrop of patriotic songs.

Moroccans in Canada have chosen to express their solidarity with the motherland through a car rally because of the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, explained the co-founder and general manager of the Atlas Medias group, Rachid Najahi, stressing that in these current conditions “this is the form most propitious to the expression of our attachment to our country of origin and to its sacred causes”.

Morocco, he affirmed, “today needs all its children more than ever, here and elsewhere, our duty being to mobilize ourselves to demonstrate our attachment to the primordial cause which is the territorial integrity of the Kingdom”.

The participants from several Canadian provinces, notably Quebec and Ontario, reiterated “their permanent mobilization behind HM King Mohammed VI for the defense of the nation and its superior interests”.
