The number of Moroccans legally settled in Spain increased during the first six months of this year, reaching 823,708, according to figures released by the Spanish authorities.
This figure is up 2%, said the ministry, according to which there were a total of 5,922,196 foreigners during the same period. Some 367,279 women or 43% make up this Moroccan community.
In addition, fifteen nationalities represent nearly 75% of the total number of foreign residents in Spain and seven of them come from countries of the European Union.
For their part, Moroccans constitute the largest community alongside the English, Chinese, Venezuelans, Ecuadorians and Colombians, the note concludes.
