The number of Moroccan nationals who died in the earthquake that hit southern Turkey is four victims, said the Minister Delegate for Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesman Mustapha Baitas.
In response to questions from journalists at a press briefing after the Council of Government, Mr. Baitas also said that the crisis cell, set up by the Embassy of the Kingdom in Ankara to receive telephone calls from members of the Moroccan community in Turkey, has received 1743 calls.
The telephone lines in the areas where the earthquake occurred were damaged, which created difficulties for the crisis cell to contact members of the Moroccan community in Turkey.
The Kingdom’s embassy in Ankara had provided members of the Moroccan community in Turkey with telephone numbers and email addresses, following the violent earthquake that occurred on Monday in the south of the country.
